Baby S update: And the surgery is successful (as far as we know)!!!
Posted by: Devyl GyrlSo, Baby S - true to form - has come out of the surgery with flying colors. I have not received another report since she went into PICU, but from what I understand, she had minimal difficulty during the surgery itself. I am grateful for that (as are her parents!).
Now, she will be on the road to recovery! She will remain in the hospital through the rest of the week, and possibly the weekend, and then she will have another 1-2 weeks before she starts her follow-up chemotherapy. I know they do not want to wait too long, in case they missed *anything* (which they do not think they did), and they do not want to do it too soon, because she needs time for her little body to heal.
Again - thank you so much for the outpouring of love, light, and prayers during all of this … you’re all wonderful friends (and family) and I cannot thank you enough. It helps, knowing there are so many people thinking of her, asking about her, and hoping, praying, and wishing she will make a full recovery.
I will continue to update everyone as things move along, and as I am given information.
Update: I just received another text from C - they were able to go back and see Baby S finally. She hasn’t given me any more info, so I believe they are busy holding and loving her. When I do get info, I will post! She did mention that B was witness to a damn shootout in the parking garage: WTF, buttercup????
