Quick Baby S update:

Baby S pulled through overnight, and is stronger today! WOOT!

The fevers have subsided, and she is is releasing a little more urine. They are now discussing sending her down to a regular room. This is good news! Day 2 after surgery, and already moving out of PICU. This poor lil angel has been through so much and is STILL fighting hard. I am so proud of her, and I wish I could be there to cheer her on in person.

Here are some pictures C sent to share with all of you. I am sorry about the quality - our phones only communicate if she takes the lil bitty cam pics. :(

Baby S Day 2 after Surgery Tired and sore, but not miserable on Day 2 after Surgery As you can see, incision is low: will not interfere with bathing suit lines later in life :) Incision is clean, with some bruising. Looks good!

As you can see from the first two photos, she is alert and awake, but tired. She’s not miserable, just not her normal sunshine-y, smile-y self. She should bounce back the rest of the way soon. The medications for pain make her a little less perky too, so it is not all because of pain and discomfort!

The second two photos show her incision. It looks pretty low, so I think it will not be a visible scar when she’s wearing summer clothes. That will be nice. A silly thing to think of, but nobody wants their baby all scarred up!! And, as you can see the incision is clean and looks good, despite the bruising!

Thank you again, everyone. C is constantly surprised at the number of people stopping by the blog and sending thoughts through email. She’s overwhelmed with the kindness and support offered.

    So glad to hear things are improving. I think about S several times a day.

    I can’t wait to see the pictures of a walking S :)
