Baby S News update (Recap) (#8/365)
Author: Devyl Gyrl / Category: Baby S, Blog365, Friends / Family, FrustrationI know some of you have heard from me already today regarding Baby S & her appointment today.
Good news first: She had the third dose of her second-to-last round of chemo. She did not need a transfusion today.
Now for the not-so-good news. Her AFP’s are back over 160. They should be hovering around 50-80. She is neutropenic - her levels are under 400, and should be over 500 - at minimum.
Signs point to a re-occurrence. This is not set in stone, of course-we are definitely HOPING and PRAYING for the best. This *could* for some reason be liver regeneration. It could be her body reacting badly to the chemo. It could be ANYTHING.
We are, however, concerned at this point. C & B will need to make a trip to Nashville or Atlanta or somewhere to do some scans for Baby S, to determine whether there is ANYTHING that can be seen yet. We do not want to have to wait for the damn cancer to show up, but you can not treat what you cannot see. We need to prepare for the worst, because if this *is* more cancer, her survival rate just plummeted.
Please spread the love … prayers, thoughts, vibes … everything you can think of and can spare, please please please send her way.
xoxo
