February 1, 2009 (#32/365)

A year ago, I spent the entire month of February incredibly sick. It started out with a stomach virus, then expanded to the flu. I was lying in bed for four days, shivering, having hot flashes, and unable to eat or drink anything. I remember, vividly, wishing I would pass out in a coma so the pain would stop. I counted myself lucky that as long as I did not put anything into my stomach, I was not getting violently ill (so, no dry-retching). Once I finally came out of the miserable almost-comatose state I was in, and started regaining my strength, I was immediately smacked down by pneumonia. Wham, bam, thank you ma’am! Pneumonia led to bronchitis (yes, backwards from most), which led me back to the flu. The first day of March was my first time outside the house in a month. It was HORRIBLE.

Here is to a hopefully healthier month!
