Change is A’comin, Folk! (#67/365)

No, I am not here to talk about national change today. I am speaking on a much smaller scale: my life. In the next few weeks, a lot of change will be coming to me, my family, and friends. My roommates and I will finally split up after two years of living on top of each other (three family units, one house=quarrelsome, quibblesome, quiet-less nights!). Tween and I are looking to move up closer to BFF (she only lives half an hour away, but it is still too far in our book). My roommate, A, and her two boys have made an offer on a home they wish to buy. She will be moving in with her mother until they hear back from the seller’s bank (it is a “Short Sale,” which, unfortunately, does not mean “Quick Sale”). My other roommate, M, and his daughter will be taking over his father’s apartment. Daddy (as I call their father) and his current life-mate (he was married to Mama for 30+ years … when he divorced her and moved in with his current girlfriend, his children were very un-accepting of the change … me included, even though I am not officially his child. *L*) are moving down south.

A few days ago Tween and I turned in our application to the apartments we fell in love with, and can only sit, wait, and attempt to refrain from chewing our fingernails. I **really** hope we get approved, because they are literally 5 minutes from BFF’s house. That means we can do drop-offs, visits, and DAILY WALKS with the ease of almost-next-door-neighbors. It would also mark the FIRST time since she lived with me in California that BFF and I lived in the same city. Woot!

Not to mention, the apartments are spacious compared to most in this area, yet still competitively priced.

Here’s hoping!

I had this blog set to post already, so I do not want to take it down. I do have something to add though:

WE WERE APPROVED!

Tween and I are beginning to move our things over as we speak (and likely have been for a day or two now, depending on what day I set this thing to post). I have to do the move myself: my roommates are moving their own things, BFF has 4 kids at home, and I don’t really know anyone else. So, I will be hauling box after box after “eleventy” millionth (*grins at the steal*) box up three flights of narrow stairs and into our new home. It’ll be worth it … but I sure do miss the military camaraderie in times like this. My shipmates would have NEVER let me move alone.

Love & hugs (we’re still so EXCITED!!!).

xoxo
