First, Baby S made it through surgery with flying colors.
Unfortunately, they did not really accomplish what they set out to do. The mass on her neck appears to be fatty tissue, so they just left it alone and did not touch it at all. I am a bit worried that they did not do a diagnosis. In fact, I’m freaking irritated about that … but her parents seem to be ok with it, so I’ll keep my mouth shut. The second mass, lower down on her back, was entwined with muscle mass in that area. Because it might do permanent damage to her muscles in that area, they decided to just biopsy that mass.
So, surgery went well … but all we’re getting out of it is a damned biopsy, which they could have done without slicing her open.
Grrrr.
I’m happy our sweet gyrl made it through with no difficulties, and that is all that really matters. If the biopsy turns up with anything in it, i’ll be sure to let you all know. If you do not hear differently, everything is fine.
