Weekend Rundown, Part 1 (#166/365)

Posted by: Devyl Gyrl

We had QUITE the weekend! I wrote this post out, and it was a novel, so I decided to get a few days worth of posts out of it. :)

I’ll start with Sunday (yesterday), and then through the week you’ll get a little tidbit from the weekend’s fun. :)

We got home around 4ish. As in a.m. Daughter and I grabbed all our gear and tossed it into our backseat, then drove the five minutes home. She decided to stay awake (she’d rested plenty in the far back of the van: she had a whole seat to herself), but I went to bed and crashed. She tried to wake me for Church, but I couldn’t even understand what she was saying, much less get out of bed and drive the thirty minutes to our Church. I watched the service online at night, instead.

We went back to BFF’s to hang out and relax for the afternoon, then B made a delicious steak dinner with mashed potatoes and corn. BFF had gone to the store and bought some stuff to make a special cake for Tween-no-more’s birthday, and we FINALLY had a birthday celebration. I have the greatest, most wonderful, friends ever. I know BFF didn’t get but 2-3 hours of sleep … and it takes all day to bake a cake and decorate with icing and toys. She’s wonderful. <3

That’s why I love that whole web of friends. They are more than friends; they’re family. In many ways, we are all water-brothers. To cause pain to one is to cause pain to all; to give joy to one is to give joy to all. Though she is (and always will be) your Tween/Teen/whatever, to some degree she is Tween/Teen/whatever to all of us as well.

I am so glad that your tween-no-more got her bday celebration and that you all are home safe and sound. Sounds like you all had a great day once you got some rest :)

Beav: You’re right. And, I have to say … i am glad for the net, because it has kept me from losing you entirely. I’m glad you can read about my lil one and I, and I am glad i can read about your love and your boys. I missed you when you were not weaved into my web. <3

brainmusic: ME TOO! Holy cow, the poor child just couldn’t win! LOL We did have a great time, despite the bickering portion of the trip. We love being together - and if plans hadn’t been changed FOR us, we wouldn’t have bickered to begin with. We can be silly like that. :/

perpstu: thank you and thank you. We’re going to do more for her, since we were too tired to give her a real celebration. She has no idea, but it will be awesome. :)

cajunvegan: I LOVE HAVING YOU IN MY COMMENTS! And, I do too. I go over and over all of the smiles, laughter, giggles, and quiet moments of joy. I love playing them over and over in my mind’s eye, memorizing those moments, feelings, and people.
