No Means … (#174/365)
Posted by: Devyl GyrlWhy is it that ‘no’ always gets the gander of whomever is being told the two-letter-nasty? Kids, adults, animals … all alike. Say ‘no’ and they want to try again anyway, or question the reason, or pretend not to hear you…
I hate repeating myself. A child did not listen to me today when I said ‘no.’
My voice, it raised.
My eyes, they flashed emerald daggers.
My cheeks, they flushed.
It took EVERY ounce of my strength not to snap at the child. Instead, the ‘no’ came out slightly louder. Said child is 11 … old enough to know better, for sure. Said child will *not* be spoken to so nicely next time. Said child betta beware.
Yes, I am an intolerant bitch. Sue me.
