Fun Friday FAIL! (#219/365)

Posted by: Devyl Gyrl

Today, I worked. We had what we thought was going to be a quick and easy paint touch-up, and painting one room. For some reason or another, it seemed like everything just took FOREVER! It didn’t help that M, my boss/friend/claimed brother had been working there for two days already doing maintenance work. He was continuing to do maintenance stuffs, while I did the paint touch-up.

The paint in the shed was an ACTUAL match to the paint on the walls - something we do not see very often, at all! I was happy, and got busy touching up the living room/dining room/hall/closets/masterbath with the one color … then moved on to the second color for the kitchen and laundry room. The third color was for the guest bathroom, and so I touched that one up fairly quickly.  I had only the two small bedrooms left for touch-up, and then could concentrate on painting the master bedroom.

So, I grabbed the light-colored paint and took it with me. Only … it didn’t match. GAH! I tell the boss he’s gotta go get a good paint match (cuz, yanno, everyone likes to boss the boss ;)). I start to paint the master bedroom, in the meantime. Only … a strip of the paint comes off the wall when I roll down. As in, about four layers of paint … peeling down. What the EFF??? I use caulk, glue it down, lean against it, roll it snug to the wall, paint over it. *shifty eyes* What? That’s not how to fix it? Hah!

We finally get the room painted, get the other touch up paint done, fix a screen, fix a few other things, clean up … 8 hours later we finally leave. It is 8pm. It takes nearly 45 minutes to get to his place to pick up my car … it is another 45 minutes home from there …

Dead. Tired.

xoxo

Yes, and I *crack* up whenever I think about it! Honestly, though, I think it was glued in fairly well. You couldn’t even see the crack when I was done! Caulk can be amazing stuff sometimes!

Who knew paint would peel off once it got to be several layers thick? I need to jot that one down in my handy dandy notebook!
